Napoli have reportedly seen their first bid for Celta Vigo talent Gabri Veiga rejected, but negotiations are continuing. The 21-year-old is considered one of the most promising young talents in Spanish football at present, following his breakout season with Celta in 2022-23.
Napoli have a long-standing interest in the young prospect and have reportedly been following his progress for a number of seasons.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Partenopei made a first bid for Veiga, thought to be in the region of €30 million, but the offer was rejected.
The release clause for the youngster is thought to be €40 million, but the two clubs are continuing talks in the hopes of reaching an agreement.
Veiga scored 11 goals in 39 appearances for Celta last season, earning attention from a number of elite European sides this summer.
