Napoli are being linked with a move for Argentine youngster Thiago Almada with some news outlets suggesting a move is close to completion. The 21-year-old currently with MLS side Atlanta United and plays as an attacking midfielder or winger, having scored fours goals in six league appearances so far this season.
Neapolitan media outlet Radio Kiss Kiss report that Napoli are closing in on a deal for the starlet and are hoping to bring him to the Stadio Maradona this summer. The move is expected to cost Napoli at least €20m, however Juventus and Inter are also closely monitoring Almada and could yet make a move of their own.
Calciomercato spoke with agent Andrea D’Amico, who has worked on several MLS transfers, as saying: “Thiago Almada? Yes, I also received confirmations in that regard. He is a player who, as far as I know, Cristiano Giuntoli likes a lot.”
Almada grew up in the barrio of Fuerte Apache like former Juventus player Carlos Tevez before making the move to Velez Sarsfield before Atlanta signed hm for a reported league-record $16 million.
