Napoli eyeing Gutierrez for left-back, Buongiorno remains primary target

Start

After a challenging season, Napoli are gearing up for a fresh start and plan to make significant moves in the transfer window. The Partenopei have already been linked with Monaco full-back Vanderson, and plan a number of other changes to their squad.

Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that in terms of defensive reinforcements, the primary target to bolster Conte’s squad is Alessandro Buongiorno, the 25-year-old defender currently under contract with Torino. However, there have been no recent developments in negotiations with Buongiorno.

Additionally, with the transition to a three-man defence, there could be positional changes among the existing squad members. Mathias Olivera, for instance, is expected to shift to a left-sided center-back role within the defensive line.

Furthermore, Napoli are in the market for a new full-back. While the profile of Vanderson remains on the radar, the club is also closely monitoring Miguel Gutierrez for the left-back position. Gutierrez, born in 2001 and currently contracted with Girona, is coming off a standout season and has caught Napoli’s attention as a potential reinforcement for the left flank.
