Napoli are reportedly closing in on a deal for for Hellas Verona midfielder Ivan Ilic and could secure the player in the January transfer window. Partenopei director Cristiano Giuntoli has been following the youngster for some time and reports from Italy suggest he is ready to make a decisive move for the 21-year-old.
According to Calciomercato.com, Lazio and Milan have been linked with a move for Ilic but he is closer to joining Napoli in the coming weeks.
Verona are asking for around €25 million for the young midfielder but Napoli could agree terms on a €20 million deal which would include various performance-related bonuses and add-ons.
Napoli are hoping to secure the Serbian international during the January transfer window by loaning him until the end of the season in a move that would include an obligation to buy in June.
