Reports from the Italian press claim that Napoli are closing in on the signing of Hellas Verona forward Cyril Ngonge. The Partenopei have seen their season stall in dramatic fashion, dropping to 8th in the standings, but still only 4 points away from 4th place.
Club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis was adamant that he would use the Janary transfer window to reinforce his squad in key areas, and has already completed the transfer of Pasquale Mazzocchi from Salernitana.
TMW, Sky Sport and a host of others now report that Napoli have reached a deal with Verona for the transfer of Ngonge, expected to be in the region of €10m plus bonuses.
Ngonge is now expected to negotiate personal terms with Napoli before completing a transfer, which is expected to be completed this week.
