Serie A giants Napoli have officially confirmed the departure of six players from their squad as their contracts come to an end. The departing players include Piotr Zielinski, Leander Dendoncker, Pierluigi Gollini, Hubert Idasiak, Diego Demme, and Hamed Traore.

In a statement released on their official website, Napoli expressed gratitude to the players, saying, “We would like to thank each and every one of them for their professionalism and commitment to the Napoli cause during their time in Naples. We wish them all the best for their future endeavours.”

The contracts for all six players expired on June 30, 2024, marking the end of their tenure with the club. Among the departing players, Dendoncker, Gollini, and Traore were on loan at Napoli and will now return to their respective parent clubs – Aston Villa, Atalanta, and Bournemouth.

Zielinski, Idasiak, and Demme are now free agents and able to negotiate with other clubs. Reports suggest that Zielinski, who has been a key player for Napoli over the past eight seasons with 364 appearances, 51 goals, and 46 assists, is likely to join Serie A rivals Inter Milan on a free transfer.

The departure of these players marks the beginning of a significant squad overhaul at Napoli. With the arrival of new coach Antonio Conte, the club is expected to refresh its playing squad ahead of the 2024-25 season. Conte is reportedly interested in bringing in new talent, including Torino centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno, Mario Hermoso, and Romelu Lukaku.
