Napoli and Juventus express Interest in Skriniar

Start

Milan Skriniar’s future remains an enigma as the 30-year-old defender finds himself out of favor at Paris Saint-Germain. Despite a contract running until 2028 and a hefty salary of €9 million plus bonuses, the Slovak international has made just five appearances in Ligue 1 this season. Recent weeks have seen the relationship between player and club deteriorate further, with Skriniar being left out of matchday squads entirely, including for the recent Supercup clash against Monaco.

Calciomercato report that a January departure looks increasingly likely, and Serie A giants Juventus and Napoli have emerged as potential suitors. Both clubs are in the market for defensive reinforcements, though the most concrete discussions thus far have been with Galatasaray. The Turkish side could potentially meet Skriniar’s wage demands thanks to favorable tax regulations and are exploring a loan deal.

Juventus, having previously considered Skriniar before turning their attention to other targets more aligned with Thiago Motta’s vision, may revisit their interest. However, any move would likely be contingent on a loan without an obligation to buy and PSG contributing to the player’s wages.

Napoli, under the guidance of Antonio Conte, appear more proactive in their pursuit. With the team facing defensive challenges due to injuries, including Alessandro Buongiorno’s extended absence, Conte is keen to bolster his backline. Skriniar’s profile appeals to the Italian tactician, and a loan deal could be attractive if PSG is willing to subsidize the salary.
