Former Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan has shared candid insights about his time at the club and his departure from Roma in a recent podcast interview (via FCInterNews). The Belgian player spoke openly about his relationship with teammate Marcelo Brozovic and the circumstances surrounding his move to Inter.

Nainggolan fondly recalled his nights out with Brozovic, saying, “In the nightclub, he was the strongest. By the end of the evening, we couldn’t recognize each other anymore.” This lighthearted comment offers a glimpse into the camaraderie between the players off the pitch.

Regarding his exit from Roma in 2018, Nainggolan revealed some behind-the-scenes tension: “There was a director who made me feel important, but in the end, he wanted to sell me without ever telling me anything. I didn’t want to stay in a place with a person I didn’t get along with, so I chose to leave.”

He added a note of regret, stating, “Knowing that he would have left after six months, I would have stayed in Rome.” This suggests that miscommunication and timing played a significant role in his departure from the club he clearly held dear.

Nainggolan also addressed the perception of his attitude upon joining Inter: “Perhaps my sadness at leaving Rome was so great that my approach to Inter was a little misunderstood. At the beginning, they asked me if I was happy to be at Inter, and I replied that I was happy, but that my sadness for leaving Rome was greater.”
