Mutu praises Fiorentina’s progress : “I’m happy with this team”

Start

Former Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu expressed his satisfaction with the team’s recent performance during the Hall of Fame ceremony in Florence. “After a hesitant start, Fiorentina has won six consecutive matches. I think they deserve second place. Palladino needed some time to get to know the players better, and now they are doing well,” Mutu remarked.

The Romanian ex-player also commented on the club’s future prospects: “I’ve read that President Commisso is ready to strengthen the squad in January. Fiorentina always deserves to be among the top teams, and who knows, maybe one day, they’ll give us something important.”

Mutu shared his thoughts on two key players, Gudmundsson and Kean. On Gudmundsson, he stated, “I saw Gudmundsson against Milan. He has the talent and the skills to wear the number ten jersey. He needs to be more consistent and give even more because the number ten in Florence is significant. It’s worn by a player who must make a difference.” Regarding Kean, he said, “I knew Kean; he’s not a surprise. He’s an important player who also plays for the national team. We’re only at the beginning; the championship is long, with only twelve rounds played. They need to continue like this.”

Mutu stressed the importance of maintaining performance levels: “Fiorentina is doing great things, but consistency is the most crucial factor. It’s necessary to bring home results regardless of the style of play.” The former attacker’s comments reflect a positive outlook on Fiorentina’s current form and potential for the season ahead, highlighting the blend of established talent and emerging stars in the squad.
