Bayern Munich forward Thomas Müller is looking forward to an ‘important and decisive’ match against in the Champions League next week. The two sides will meet in the opening round of the group games with the Nerazzurri hosting the German champions at the San Siro on Wednesday.
Speaking after Bayern’s disappointing draw against Union Berlin, Müller offered his thoughts on the upcoming match:
I hope for a better result than against Union, that’s for sure. It will be a very important and decisive match for both teams. In a group stage like this, the opening game is simply very important for the feeling and for the rest of the walk, for not being under pressure.
I have been able to play a few times at the San Siro. It’s not the most modern stadium, but I was there as a spectator as a child and I am still very impressed by the history.”
