Jose Mourinho insists that he wants to remain with Roma beyond 2024, when his contract with the club ends. The Special One has been linked with a host of other jobs, including positions in the Saudi Pro League and a potential switch to national team management. Despite the rumours, the Portuguese tactician insists he wants to remain in the capital, subject to a few provisos:
“I want to continue with Roma, but we need to think seriously about the Financial Fair Play situation. Maybe it’s better to play with a few more young players. We all know the overall quality of the team. It’s a team that can change and mutate. If we are all available we can be strong, without the fundamental players we will struggle a lot.”
“That’s why I think maybe it’s better to work with younger players who have potential to develop rather than with players who have nothing to develop for the future. I would like to continue coaching Roma and I am willing to changes the way I think about my job.”
“My future? For me it would be very hard to part ways with Roma. If it were to happen it would never be because of my decision.”
