Sofyan Amrabat’s chances of staying at Manchester United or even in the Premier League appear to have dwindled. The Moroccan midfielder, who played on loan with an option to buy at Manchester United last season, has returned to Fiorentina after the English club decided not to activate the purchase option. Fiorentina received €10 million for the loan but did not secure the additional €20 million plus €5 million in bonuses to make the move permanent.
Calciomercato detail how Amrabat, who was given a few extra days off, has rejoined Fiorentina at Viola Park. However, his future in Florence seems uncertain as he does not plan to stay with the club. Despite a strong performance with Morocco at the 2022 World Cup and interest from Barcelona earlier this year, Fiorentina blocked his transfer in January.
With Manchester United not pursuing a permanent deal and no other Premier League options emerging, Amrabat is exploring alternatives. Although there has been interest from Serie A clubs and teams in Saudi Arabia and Greece, the most concrete interest now comes from Turkey’s Fenerbahce.
Reports indicate that Fenerbahce’s coach, José Mourinho, has personally reached out to Amrabat. The Turkish club has made an offer of €10 million, while Fiorentina is asking for €15 million. The gap could potentially be bridged with the inclusion of bonuses or a future resale percentage.
