Juventus faced a disappointing 1-1 draw against Lecce, with goals from Andrea Cambiaso and Ante Rebic ensuring the teams shared the points. After the match, Juventus coach Thiago Motta addressed the media, discussing both the game and the concerning health of midfielder Edoardo Bove.
Motta began by expressing his sympathy for Bove, who had collapsed during a previous match. “I feel very sorry for the boy, his teammates, and especially his family. I can only imagine how terrible it must be for his parents to see their son in such a state,” he said.
Reflecting on the match itself, Motta acknowledged that Juventus struggled in the second half. “We dropped our intensity and conceded a goal at the last minute. Now we must prepare for the next game,” he stated.
He also pointed out that goals are often the result of small mistakes, emphasizing that it wasn’t solely Cambiaso’s fault for the late equalizer. “We could have avoided conceding at the end. From matches like this, we need to improve and learn,” he added.
When asked about Tim Weah’s role as a False 9, Motta noted that he has been effective in that position. “Yildiz can play that role, and he did well. It’s clear that we need to get into the box more effectively, and with him and Conceicao on the flanks, it becomes easier. Right now, he is better at arriving in the opponent’s area than staying there,” Motta explained.
