Morata on the Move: Galatasaray Close In on AC Milan Striker

Start

In a surprising turn of events, Galatasaray are  reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign Alvaro Morata from AC Milan. Calciomercato and others report that the Turkish club is in constant contact with Milan’s management to conclude the deal as quickly as possible, with great optimism surrounding the potential transfer.

The unexpected news comes just six months after Morata’s arrival at San Siro. According to sources, the player’s agents are currently in Milan discussing the terms of the transfer. The proposed deal structure is expected to be a loan with an obligation to buy set at €16 million.

If the transfer goes through, it would mark a premature end to Morata’s stint with the Rossoneri. The Spanish striker has struggled to make a significant impact at Milan, scoring only six goals in 25 appearances across all competitions this season.

Milan’s willingness to part ways with Morata suggests they may have alternative plans for their attacking lineup. Reports indicate that the Italian club could intensify their pursuit of Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord. Milan is reportedly prepared to offer between €31-32 million plus bonuses, potentially reaching €37-38 million, along with a 10% sell-on clause.

However, concerns remain about Gimenez’s fitness following a recent muscular issue that forced him off early in a Champions League match against Lille.
