Monza’s Transfer Market Heats Up: Negotiations with AC Milan for Ballo-Touré and Origi

Start

Monza’s transfer market activities are intensifying as the club seeks to strengthen its squad for the second half of the season. The team has initiated contact with AC Milan regarding potential moves for Fodé Ballo-Touré and Divock Origi, signaling their intent to bolster both defensive and attacking options.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the interest in Ballo-Touré comes as Monza continues to reinforce its defensive line in pursuit of Serie A survival. The left-back, who has found playing time limited at Milan, could provide valuable experience and depth to Monza’s backline.

Simultaneously, Monza are evaluating the possibility of acquiring Divock Origi to enhance their attacking prowess. The former Liverpool striker, like Ballo-Touré, has been relegated to Milan’s reserve team, Milan Futuro, at the start of the season, making him a potential target for clubs seeking proven goalscorers.

These potential transfers are currently in the assessment phase, having emerged as possibilities in recent hours. Monza’s transfer team, led by Adriano Galliani and comprising sporting director Mauro Bianchessi alongside First Team Technical Coordinator Sergio Floccari, is carefully considering these options.

As Monza explore these opportunities with Milan, the club is also finalizing the acquisition of Stefan Lekovic from Red Star Belgrade. The 20-year-old Serbian defender is expected to arrive in Italy on Thursday evening. Monza have secured Lekovic on a loan deal with an obligation to buy, which will be triggered after his sixth appearance for the club. The permanent transfer fee is set at 2.5 million euros. Lekovic, who has already made three appearances for Serbia’s Under-21 team, brings with him experience from nine league matches this season, during which he also managed to score once.
