Monza have made a surprising acquisition by securing the services of Stefan Lekovic, a promising defender from Red Star Belgrade. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the club’s management has finalized a deal that will see the 2004-born player join on loan, with an obligation to buy for €2.5 million once he makes his sixth appearance.
The strategic move is aimed at strengthening Monza’s defence as they strive to secure their position in Serie A. Coach Salvatore Bocchetti will welcome Lekovic as a vital addition to the squad, enhancing their chances of survival in the top flight.
Lekovic is set to arrive in Italy on January 16, where he will undergo medical examinations before officially signing with the club. The young Serbian defender has already made an impression in his career, having played nine matches in the Serbian league this season and scoring once. He is also part of the Serbia U21 national team, showcasing his potential on an international level.
