Fiorentina striker Moise Kean has become the target of racist abuse following his team’s 2-1 defeat against Inter Milan at San Siro. The incident has sparked outrage in the football community, with several players and clubs rallying to support the Italian forward.
In the aftermath of the match, Kean received a barrage of racist messages on his Instagram account. The player responded by sharing screenshots of some of these offensive comments on his Instagram story, accompanied by two vomiting emojis to express his disgust at the situation.
Juan Jesus, the Napoli defender, has stepped forward with a powerful message of solidarity for Kean. Jesus, who was involved in a controversial racism incident last season with Inter’s Francesco Acerbi, posted a story on Instagram featuring a picture of himself with Kean on the pitch. His caption read: “I’m with you, brother. Let’s see how this one ends.”
The Brazilian defender’s comment is a pointed reference to his own experience last year. During a match between Inter and Napoli in March 2024, Jesus accused Acerbi of using a racial slur against him. Despite Jesus’s claims, the case concluded without any sanctions, and Acerbi was cleared of wrongdoing due to insufficient evidence.
Jesus’s support for Kean highlights the ongoing struggle against racism in football and the frustration felt by players who face such abuse. His message suggests a hope for a different outcome in Kean’s case, perhaps implying a desire for more decisive action against racist behavior.
Several Serie A clubs have also expressed their support for Kean. Inter Milan, Juventus, and Lazio, among others, have posted messages of solidarity on social media, condemning racism and standing with the Fiorentina striker.
