Juventus youngster Fabio Miretti called Claudio Marchisio ‘an example to follow’ after winning the Italian Golden Boy award from Tuttosport last night. The Bianconeri youth product has made his way into the first team and is starting to get more opportunities in Max Allegri’s squad.
His efforts were recognised at the annual awards ceremony, hosted by the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport, who recognised him as ‘Italian Golden Boy’.
Speaking at the ceremony, Miretti discussed the prestige of winning the award, which was presented to him by Juventus legend Claudio Marchisio:
For me it’s an honour that fills me with pride, Marchisio has always been and still is an example to follow, I would steal his nose for goal.
I thank the club that got me here and are making me grow, spurring me on to improve. I do my best to repay Allegri’s trust on the pitch.
I hope to do well in the Europa League too, I won a trophy at Nantes in my youth days. I watch Manchester City matches to pick up some secrets from De Bruyne.”
Marchsio on Miretti:
“For the goal, he just needs a bit of patience, because he doesn’t lack anything, from the movements to the timing of the plays. He plays more forward than me, he reminds me of Nedved.
“Having worn these colours since his childhood, he has the great advantage of knowing the weight of the Juve shirt and the Bianconero DNA.”
