Milan’s Transfer Strategy: Ibrahimovic Speaks on Targets and Renewals

Start

AC Milan’s Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic has provided insights into the club’s transfer strategy during Kyle Walker’s presentation as a new Milan player. The Swedish legend addressed various aspects of the Rossoneri’s market activities and squad management.

On the overall transfer market, Ibrahimovic stated: “We have our objectives and we’re working on them, but it’s not an easy market, in fact, it’s very difficult. Kyle wasn’t a target, but it was a situation we gladly took advantage of. As for our objectives, we know what to do and we’re working on it.”

Regarding Santiago Gimenez, a potential target for Milan, Ibrahimovic was complimentary but brief: “Talent and potential, everyone knows he’s strong.”

Addressing the midfield situation, he commented: “We have Loftus-Cheek out, Bennacer just returned. We are strong, let’s see what develops and what we can do.”

On Luka Jovic’s future, Ibrahimovic revealed: “There are no updates. He’s doing well, the coach is satisfied. We also need to understand what’s best for the player.”

Ibrahimovic also touched on contract renewals for key players: “We talk with Maignan, Theo, Reijnders, and others who need to renew every day. Everyone is doing well and wants to continue here. Everything is under control, the player should focus on playing, and we think about the rest.”

Discussing the club’s work with managers on transfers, he explained: “We work with Conceicao as we did with Fonseca, no difference. Both are involved in the market. Sergio likes a certain type of player, different from Paulo. We had already thought about some players. Self-criticism from the management? We always want to do our best and work hard. When you know you’re doing a good job, the results will come.”
