AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance following their 1-0 victory over Udinese in Serie A. The match, decided by Chukwueze’s first-half goal, saw Milan play with ten men for most of the game after Reijnders’ early dismissal.
In his post-match interview with DAZN, Fonseca divided the game into two parts: “The match can be split in two. We had 30 minutes of quality in the first half. After the red card, it was a game decided by our team’s spirit: it was a demonstration of unity, we worked together.”
The Portuguese coach was particularly pleased with the team’s resilience: “I’m very happy: the players who came on were decisive and worked hard for the team.”
Fonseca emphasized the justice of the result, stating, “The most important chances were ours: it would have been unfair for my boys not to win this match.” He also singled out Christian Pulisic for praise, describing his performance as “fantastic.”
Reflecting on the team’s overall approach, Fonseca concluded: “What I’ve been seeking from day one is a team that fights and works together. This is the spirit we want in any situation.”
