Talks between Inter and centre-back Milan Skriniar are reportedly progressing well and there’s optimism over potential contract renewal. The Slovak international has a contract with the Nerazzurri until June 2023 and has been closely linked with a move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
La Gazzetta dello Sport write that there was a positive meeting between the club and the players representatives yesterday and there is a ‘openness’ to meaningful talks between all parties.
The meeting reportedly lasted about an hour and while there was not a lot of detail about the numbers involved, Inter know perfectly well that PSG offered the defender €9 million plus bonuses in the summer. Skriniar himself knows just as well how far the Nerazzurri can go in terms of salary.
The player has reportedly offered ‘no middle ground’ by asked for a long-term contract which does not include a release clause. A new meeting is now scheduled for next week with Inter executives hoping to reach a solution within the next month.
