Milan Secures Gimenez’s Approval, Initiate Talks with Feyenoord; Walker’s Debut Set for Derby

Start

AC Milan have received a positive signal from Santiago Gimenez, and negotiations with Feyenoord are set to begin. The Mexican striker with an Italian passport has expressed his desire to don the red and black jersey, and his entourage is working to make this dream a reality.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that In recent days, reaching a preliminary economic agreement between Milan and Gimenez, who currently earns less than a million euros net per season, has been relatively straightforward. The more challenging task will be convincing Feyenoord to part with their striker during this winter transfer window.

The Dutch club’s executives, who have already rejected Juventus’ offer for Hancko, intend to keep their number 29 until at least the summer. However, Gimenez’s official agent, Rafaela Pimenta, and his father Christian, who manages his son’s career, are set to intervene soon to express the player’s desire to change clubs and join Milan’s project.

Milan’s management, including Ibrahimovic, Furlani, and Moncada, had considered Gimenez as a potential attacking partner for Morata last summer. Feyenoord’s high asking price of over 40 million euros led Milan to pursue Abraham instead, but Gimenez has remained at the top of their wish list.

The Rossoneri are prepared to make a permanent deal for Gimenez, as loan options are off the table. They will attempt to negotiate the transfer fee, possibly linking a portion to the team’s future performance, including Champions League qualification and trophy wins.

Meanwhile, Kyle Walker’s move to Milan is nearly finalized, with an agreement reached with Manchester City for a loan with an option to buy. However, Walker’s arrival in Italy has been delayed until Thursday or Friday due to visa requirements. He is expected to make his debut in the derby against Inter on February 2nd.

Milan’s transfer activities may not end with Walker and a new striker. The club is also considering reinforcing the midfield and defence, especially if Bennacer receives an offer from the Saudi Pro League. The Rossoneri are determined to secure Champions League qualification for both prestige and financial reasons, and are committed to strengthening all areas of the squad to achieve this goal.
