Milan have officially unveiled their home kit for the 2024-25 season, created in partnership with global sports company PUMA. The new design pays homage to the club’s storied history and deep-rooted traditions, while also emphasizing its commitment to social and cultural values.
A Tribute to Heritage and Style
The official announcement on AC Milan’s website proudly states, “Nothing says football heritage like the red and black stripes of AC Milan, synonymous with success, passion, and style – from the turf to the streets since 1899.” The new kit retains the classic style with equal-width red and black stripes, a plain back for name and number printing as per league regulations, and a special patch below the neck commemorating Milan’s 125-year history.
Symbolizing Social Commitment
One of the standout features of the new kit is the inscription ‘Social Club Institution’ on the inner collar. This detail symbolizes AC Milan’s unwavering dedication to social issues and highlights the club’s role as a social and cultural institution committed to fostering positive societal change.
Statements from AC Milan and PUMA
Maikel Oettle, Chief Commercial Officer of AC Milan, commented on the new kit:
“AC Milan’s new home kit is a testament to our rich heritage and the enduring legacy of Milanismo, which unites over 500 million fans worldwide. This jersey truly embodies the spirit of passion, dedication, and innovation that defines our club. We are proud to unveil this special kit, symbolizing our commitment not only to football excellence but also to our role as a social and cultural institution.”
Marco Mueller, PUMA’s Senior Director of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel, added:
“AC Milan is more than a club – it’s a symbol of performance at the highest level. We aim to combine performance innovation, design, and technology. With classic colors and a visual representation of the human genome, this kit celebrates how the love for AC Milan has been passed down through generations. Made with Milanismo, from Milan to the world.”
Sustainable Innovation with RE:FIBRE
For the first time, AC Milan’s replica jerseys will be produced using PUMA’s RE:FIBRE initiative, which incorporates textile waste as the primary material source. This sustainable process allows the recycled material to be reused repeatedly without losing quality, offering a long-term solution for recycling polyester textile waste.
The authentic jersey, as worn by the players, is made with PUMA’s ULTRAWEAVE fabric, designed to reduce weight and friction. Additionally, the new goalkeeper shirt features a black base with a wavy design, as previously leaked.
Debut and Availability
The 2024-25 home kit will debut on the pitch during AC Milan’s final home match of the season against Salernitana at San Siro. It will also be worn by the men’s first team in their friendly match against AS Roma in Perth, Australia, on May 31.
