Milan are pushing ahead in their bid to sign Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar and would like to secure his transfer in January. The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season and looks unlikely to agree a contract extension with Les Gones.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Milan have been observing the midfielder for a long time and want to beat the competition by making a bid to sign him in January.
Their efforts are reportedly gathering pace, despite interested from the likes of Juventus and Roma, who have also held a long-standing interest in the 24-year-old.
The suggestion is that Aouar could be available at a discounted price, as low as €8 million, which is considered a massive discount, given Lyon rejected an offer from Arsenal worth €50m a few years ago.
Milan are giving serious consideration to the potential transfer in January, with Yacine Adli potentially loaned out to free up a place, while the sale of Fodé Ballo-Touré could also help finance the move.
