Milan are poised to make their first defensive signing of the transfer window. The negotiations for Strahinja Pavlovic are in an advanced stage, with the Rossoneri aiming to secure the Serbian defender’s services.
While rumors from Austria suggested that Milan was on the verge of signing Pavlovic for around €25 million including bonuses, the final price is expected to be different. Milan is targeting to close the deal at approximately €20 million, potentially reaching that figure with the addition of performance-related bonuses.
Pavlovic has already given his approval to join the Rossoneri. The 22-year-old center-back arrived in Austria two years ago for €7 million from Monaco, who had initially purchased him from Partizan Belgrade for €10 million in 2020. During his time with Monaco, he had loan spells at Cercle Bruge in Belgium and Basel in Switzerland.
Over the past two seasons, Pavlovic has made 71 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg, winning an Austrian championship. He has contributed 6 goals and 6 assists, while accumulating 24 yellow cards and 2 red cards. For the Serbian national team, he has 38 caps, including three matches in the Euro 2024 group stage, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assist.
Currently under contract until June 2027 with an annual net salary of around €750,000, Milan is prepared to double his wages, offering approximately €1.5 million net per year with potential increases.
