AC Milan are currently in the process of negotiating a potential transfer for goalkeeper Simone Scuffet from Cagliari, following an injury sustained by Marco Sportiello. The need for a new goalkeeper has become urgent after reserve goalie Marco Sportiello suffered a trauma to his left hand, which will keep him sidelined for an extended period.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that in light of this situation, Milan initiated discussions with Cagliari regarding Scuffet, who has shown willingness to make the move. The negotiations, however, are progressing slowly. Scuffet, 28, had a solid season with Cagliari last year, making 31 appearances, and he is under contract until June 2026.
Milan’s new head coach, Paulo Fonseca, is assessing the recovery timeline for Sportiello, but it is clear that the team needs to find a reliable replacement. With Scuffet being the primary candidate, the club is hopeful for a resolution soon, although the pace of the negotiations indicates that it may take time to finalize the deal.
