AC Milan are making significant strides in their pursuit of Kyle Walker, the experienced right-back currently playing for Manchester City. The Rossoneri have reportedly reached an agreement with Walker on personal terms and are now in the process of finalizing details with City.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports how, as negotiations progress, Manchester City are considering two potential options for Walker’s departure: either terminating his contract or allowing him to leave on loan with an option to buy. Regardless of the approach, Milan have decided to utilize their available non-EU player slot for the English defender, which means they are stepping back from pursuing Marcus Rashford.
Rashford’s situation has become complicated, as Manchester United has not agreed to cover his salary in a potential transfer. This development has prompted Milan to prepare for the possibility of losing defender Fikayo Tomori, who has attracted interest from Juventus.
The two clubs are expected to discuss Tomori’s future following their match on January 18 at Allianz Stadium. Meanwhile, Milan are focused on securing Walker’s signing as they seek to strengthen their defensive lineup.
In addition to Walker, Milan have shifted their attacking focus after moving away from the Rashford deal. Joao Felix from Chelsea has emerged as a top target for the Rossoneri. However, Felix’s transfer would depend on Chelsea being open to a loan arrangement. New discussions between Felix’s agent, Jorge Mendes, and Chelsea are anticipated soon.
