According to transfer market journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, while awaiting developments on the Joshua Zirkzee front, Milan is cautiously exploring other options to bolster their attack. The Rossoneri are considering two potential targets: Memphis Depay and Ermedin Demirovic.
Di Marzio reports that the first option is Depay, the Atletico Madrid striker who will become a free agent on July 1st. Depay represents an opportunity for the Milanese club, regardless of whether they secure the services of Joshua Zirkzee or not.
The second avenue leads to Demirovic, the Bosnian striker currently plying his trade at Augsburg. Demirovic could emerge as a concrete idea for Milan, should they fail to reach an agreement with the Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee. In the previous Bundesliga season, the 24-year-old Demirovic tallied an impressive 15 goals and 10 assists. Augsburg currently value their striker at around €25 million, but contacts have been made, and the player has expressed his full availability. The sentiment is that an agreement could be reached between €18-20 million.
Meanwhile, the prospect of Artem Dovbyk, the Girona and Ukrainian national team striker, remains on the table. Milan officials directly scouted Dovbyk during Ukraine’s recent 3-0 loss against Romania at Euro 2024.
