Milan Derby set for record-breaking sellout as ticket sales soar

Start

The highly anticipated Milan derby between Inter and AC Milan, is poised to break attendance and revenue records for Serie A. The match, to be held at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in San Siro, has seen an unprecedented demand for tickets, with both sets of fans rushing to secure their spots.

Calciomercato report how AC Milan supporters have shown remarkable enthusiasm, quickly snapping up all 9,000 tickets allocated for the away section in the second tier blue, traditionally known as the Curva Sud. These tickets were sold out within hours, leaving latecomers to resort to secondary ticket platforms, though clubs strongly advise against using these unofficial channels.

Inter Milan’s official ticket sales have also concluded rapidly. The club has already completed pre-sale phases for second-tier blue season ticket holders, Serie A plus tariff subscribers, Inter Club members, and “Siamo Noi” card holders – the latter finishing five days ahead of schedule. While a few tickets may still be available for general sale, a complete sellout is virtually guaranteed.

This fervent demand is expected to result in record-breaking gate receipts. The current Italian record for a single match stands at 6,620,970 euros, set on October 6, 2019, when Inter hosted Juventus. However, projections for this upcoming derby suggest that revenues will surpass the 7 million euro mark, setting a new benchmark for Serie A.
