Milan close to securing key renewals for Reijnders and Maignan

Start

AC Milan are on the verge of announcing two crucial contract renewals as the club celebrates its 125th anniversary. Tijjani Reijnders and Mike Maignan, both integral to Paulo Fonseca’s squad, are expected to finalize their new deals in the coming days. This development comes as welcome news for Milan supporters, especially considering the recent transfer market interest in both the Dutch midfielder and the French goalkeeper.

The renewals follow in the footsteps of Matteo Gabbia, who recently extended his contract until 2029. Milan is now working on officially announcing these two additional renewals while also considering Theo Hernandez’s situation.

A key factor in these negotiations is the Growth Decree, which continues to provide tax benefits for both Maignan and Reijnders. These fiscal advantages will remain in effect until the legally prescribed deadline, even for contract renewals of players who were already benefiting from them.

Regarding the financial details, Reijnders’ new contract is set to run until 2029, with a substantial salary increase. His annual net earnings will rise from the current €1.7 million to €3.5 million, plus bonuses tied to personal and team objectives. Maignan’s contract will have the same duration, with his salary increasing to approximately €5 million net per season, also including significant bonuses.

These renewals not only secure the futures of two key players but also demonstrate Milan’s commitment to building a competitive squad for the long term. The club’s ability to leverage the Growth Decree in these negotiations highlights their strategic approach to player retention in an increasingly competitive market.
