AC Milan are ramping up their efforts to sign Santiago Gimenez, with negotiations reaching a crucial stage. The Rossoneri have already reached a preliminary agreement with the Mexican striker, offering a three-year contract with an option for an additional season. According to Calciomercato, the proposed salary package amounts to €2.5 million per season plus bonuses.
However, Feyenoord rejected Milan’s initial bid of €35-36 million including bonuses, deeming it insufficient. The Dutch club remains firm in its stance, unwilling to make a decision on Gimenez’s future before next Wednesday’s crucial Champions League match against Lille.
Undeterred, Milan are preparing to submit an improved offer. The club has informed Feyenoord of its intention to present a second, more attractive bid with enhanced bonuses and a higher fixed base. Milan’s management, led by Furlani, understands that only a guaranteed offer of €40 million plus bonuses might persuade Feyenoord to reconsider their position.
Rafaela Pimenta, Gimenez’s agent, remains in the Netherlands, working diligently to advance the negotiations. Despite the challenges, Milan maintains confidence in securing the deal. The club is carefully evaluating its options and strategizing its next move to bring Gimenez to San Siro.
