AC Milan are on the verge of completing the transfer of Brazilian full-back Emerson Royal from Tottenham Hotspur. The negotiations have reached their final stages, and an official announcement could be made within days, possibly even hours.
According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri have intensified talks with Tottenham in an effort to conclude the deal as swiftly as possible. A crucial meeting at Casa Milan two days ago between Milan’s directors Moncada and Furlani and Emerson’s agent Castagna resulted in a total agreement on personal terms and agent fees.
Currently, Emerson’s entourage and intermediaries are working to persuade Tottenham to align with Milan’s financial proposal. The Italian club has offered €14 million plus €3 million in bonuses, while Tottenham are seeking €15 million guaranteed plus €3-4 million in add-ons.
The main point of discussion now centers around the structure of these bonuses, as the parties have not yet reached a complete agreement on this aspect. However, the transfer is not in doubt and is considered to be in its closing stages.
Milan’s pursuit of Emerson Royal has been accelerated following Alessandro Florenzi’s serious knee injury during a recent friendly against Manchester City. The Brazilian right-back is seen as an ideal reinforcement for Paulo Fonseca’s squad.
