Il Corriere dello Sport claim that Milan are in advanced talks for Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gündogan this summer. The German international is available as a free agent at the end of the month when his contract with City comes to an end, and despite suggestions that he may renew with the Citizens, Italian newspapers report otherwise.
Il Corriere dello Sport write that the Rossoneri have begun talks with the 32-year-old midfielder and these discussions are at an ‘advanced’ stage. The newspaper also claims that Milan are confident in their pursuit of the player, suggesting he could be the clubs next summer signing after securing Daichi Kamada.
Gündogan is also wanted by Barcelona, and the player is thought to be in talks with the La Liga champions as well, but a final decision over his future isn’t expected until after the Champions League final against Inter next week.
The former Borussia Dortmund man has been with City since 2016, scoring 58 goals in 302 appearances for the Premier League champions.
