Milan and Fiorentina agree deal for Yacine Adli

Start

AC Milan and Fiorentina have reached an agreement for the transfer of midfielder Yacine Adli. The French player, who initially intended to stay with Milan even as a reserve, has accepted the move to Florence after struggling to secure regular playing time since his arrival from Bordeaux.

Calciomercato report how Adli, who has transitioned from an attacking midfielder to a deeper midfield role during his time at Milan, is set to undergo a medical examination and sign his contract with Fiorentina. The deal comes after Fiorentina moved swiftly to secure the player’s services, outpacing interest from Marseille.

The transfer will take the form of a paid loan with an option to buy set at approximately €13 million. Adli is expected to sign a contract that runs for one year plus an additional four years, should Fiorentina exercise their purchase option.

Today, Adli did not participate in training with Paulo Fonseca’s Milan squad, indicating that the transfer to Fiorentina is all but complete. This move addresses one of the key areas that Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino had identified as needing reinforcement.

While Palladino had specifically mentioned the need for a “substantial midfielder” following the first leg of their Conference League playoff last Thursday, the potential retention of Sofyan Amrabat could fill that role, especially now that Napoli has secured Scott McTominay.
