Milan and Fenerbahce Set for Crucial Talks Over Pavlovic Transfer

Start

AC Milan and Fenerbahce are poised for a pivotal meeting regarding the potential transfer of Strahinja Pavlovic. The Turkish club has submitted an official offer for the Serbian defender, who only joined Milan a few months ago. This latest approach from Fenerbahce, unlike their initial rejected bid, may have a higher chance of success.

According to Calciomercato, the two clubs have scheduled a meeting for Thursday, following Milan’s crucial Champions League match against Girona. This timing is significant as Milan faces a defensive crisis for the Girona game, with injuries and suspensions affecting key players like Thiaw and Tomori. Consequently, Pavlovic, who had fallen down the pecking order, is expected to feature in this important fixture.

Milan are open to Pavlovic’s departure but is seeking favourable terms. The club are considering a loan deal with an obligation to buy or conditions that would ensure Fenerbahce purchases the player for around €20 million. This figure would represent a slight profit for Milan, who acquired Pavlovic from Salzburg last summer for €18 million plus €2 million in bonuses.

Fenerbahce’s initial proposal of a loan with an option to buy was rejected. However, the new offer, with different conditions, might receive a more positive response from the Rossoneri. The negotiations are set to intensify towards the end of the week, as both clubs look to find a mutually beneficial agreement for the 23-year-old defender.
