At the recent Golden Boy ceremony, super agent Jorge Mendes discussed the futures of several of his clients, focusing on Francisco Conceicao, currently at Juventus, and Antonio Silva, a central defender at Benfica. Mendes, who will receive the Best Agent award at the event, shared his insights on both players’ situations.
When asked about Conceicao’s impact at Juventus, Mendes stated, “He is a player with immense talent, one who can play in any team in the world. Juventus is happy with him, and he is happy at Juventus.” As for whether Conceicao will remain with the club long-term, Mendes added, “I can only say that when he has signed. Right now, it’s a strong possibility because he wants to stay at Juventus, and the club will do everything to keep him.”
Mendes also addressed the potential transfer of Antonio Silva to Juventus. “It’s still too early… In football, the market must wait for the right moment to understand what will happen; it’s too soon now,” he remarked. He emphasized the importance of timing in negotiations and player movements.
Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus’ CFO, expressed optimism about Conceicao’s future at the club before their match against Manchester City. “The relationship with Conceicao and his agent is excellent; we want him to stay with us. Probability that he stays with us? 100%,” Giuntoli confirmed.
Juventus are looking to finalize a deal for Conceicao after his loan from Porto. The agreement includes a fee of €30 million after an initial loan cost of €7 million. Meanwhile, discussions regarding Silva are ongoing as Juventus seeks to strengthen their defense following injuries to key players.
