Juventus’ young talent Samuel Mbangula has been enjoying a remarkable start to the season. The 20-year-old Belgian winger recently reflected on his experiences during an interview (via Calciomercato) at the Tubize federal center, where he’s currently training with Belgium’s U21 squad.
When asked about being the Belgian phenomenon of the moment, Mbangula humbly responded, “No, not at all. There are many excellent players here. I’m just doing my job, although I’m surprised by what’s happening.”
Discussing his time at Juventus, Mbangula expressed his awe: “Juve is one of the biggest clubs in the world. It would surprise anyone to have such a debut. I always feel pressure, but it’s a good pressure: it gives you adrenaline.” However, he also noted the changes in his personal life: “Now my life has changed: I can’t go out on the street as easily anymore. I wasn’t ready for this… I preferred it before!”
Mbangula also spoke positively about the competitive environment at Juventus: “This is very positive for growth: the more experienced players are the first to encourage me. Juve is a big family.” He praised manager Thiago Motta’s approach: “Motta gives me the confidence I need. He’s always very clear: he tells you what works and what doesn’t. He also encourages us to try, especially not to hesitate: what matters is the reaction in case of error, to succeed on the second attempt.”
