Milan youngster Matteo Gabbia has said his goodbyes to the club ahead of a move to La Liga side Villarreal. The 23-year-old Italian defender has struggled to find a space in the Rossoneri starting XI, prompting a switch to the Yellow Submarines.
Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Gabbia will join Villarreal on a season-long loan, without any obligation to sign at the end of the deal.
The two clubs are also poised to agree a deal for Samuel Chukwueze today, with the deal agreed and just the medical and official announcement pending.
Gabbia was pictured on Instagram saying farewell to his teammates during the clubs USA tour.
