Rossoneri sporting director Frederic Massara believes it will be an ‘Italian derby’ against Napoli: “It will take a very high level of performance.” The two Italian sides have been drawn against each other in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and will square off three times in the space of 20 days next month. Speaking with Milan TV (as quoted by MilanPress), the Milan director spoke about what it will take to beat their domestic rivals and why they are confident heading into the matches:
“All the quarter-finals matches are great, against strong teams because we are among the 8 best in Europe. It will be an unprecedented and difficult challenge against a very strong Napoli, but also stimulating because we will face them with confidence.
“It will take a very high level of performance. The fact that we play three times in 20 days is not something that helps, it complicates the challenge for both of us. We really take it with great courage and we hope to play great games, but they will definitely be great because both have shown they play a great game.”
“The Primavera? It is a great pride because it certifies the great work of Milan’s youth sector for many years. It is a special achievement and we are very happy with the work of the team and coach Abate. We are very proud to be the only first team to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League with the U19 team in the Youth League semifinals.”
