Inter CEO Beppe Marotta confirmed that Manchester United are interested in Andre Onana while Marcelo Brozovic will decide if he wants to move to Saudi Arabia. Both players are expected to leave the Nerazzurri in the summer transfer window, and Marotta confirmed that they are in talks for their transfers, as well as the prospective purchase of Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi:
Did you bring something extra to convince Sassuolo with Frattesi for tonight’s dinner?
“We will dine with all the managers present this evening as president of A.di.se, the institutional role required me to be here. As managing director of Inter, the fact that Carnevali and Riso are here does not mean that we have to look into the Frattesi issue, who remains observed and wanted by many clubs. But there are so many dynamics that do not allow me to unbalance the situation now’.
On Brozovic.
“There are many factors including the economic one which is the most important the situation is not closed. Who decides the fate is the player himself, who must decide to follow a path or not. We are not obliged to sell but we evaluate opportunities, the biggest problem is the contractual obligation with the new club. These are situations that will be settled in a short time. We will try to reopen the discourse if not we will take him off the market’.
On Onana:
“Manchester United has expressed a particular interest, but this must first result in a proposal. Then careful considerations will be made on our part and on the part of the player who is interested’.
On the irruption of Arabia:
“Suddenly this new phenomenon has arrived that clearly conditions the clubs. It’s clear that on the one hand it’s money that needs to be reinvested, on the other hand it creates a competitive alteration and needs to be better monitored. However, it is up to the central organisations. Today we note the will of a continent that is taking a leading role in football’.
On Thuram:
“We are happy. Thanks to Ausilio. We have signed an agreement with a player, among other things a son of art. May it be a good omen for the future’.
