Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta expressed his ambitions for the club during a video call with fans at the inauguration of an Inter Club in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily. Speaking to the gathered fans, as quoted by Calciomercato Marotta stated:
“Dear friends and club members, warmest greetings from me. I’m sorry I can’t be with you on this special evening, I would have liked to participate but commitments have kept me away from Mazara. However, I can only rejoice with you for this initiative and for the warmth, even virtual, and the affection you always transmit to us. We need you fans and we always hope to give you strong emotions. Personally, I thank you, I have taken on an important top role because I believe that this Inter must be taken as high as possible and I personally am convinced that all the company components will do everything to give you many satisfactions.”
“I CAN’T COMPARE MYSELF TO MORATTI, BUT…” – Marotta then spoke via phone call with the fans present: “I would have come gladly, also because my origins are Sicilian; my father, mother and sister were born in Messina, so there’s Sicilian blood and for me it’s a source of great pride. I want to thank you for the attachment you have to our colors. My commitment is to be able to give you, through the team, the satisfactions you deserve, even greater than those of the past season which was crowned with the conquest of the second star Scudetto, which is clearly an honor for our history. The role of Inter president is a source of great honor, which repays the sacrifices of an entire career starting from the bottom. I would never have thought of achieving such a goal, surely the first thing was to give my contribution to bring Inter to win. Although not comparable to the Morattis, the Fraizzolis, the Pellegrinis, I am a person who loves football and Inter, so I hope to be able to give you many satisfactions like those enjoyed in past years with other presidents.”
TWO PROMISES – Finally, Marotta made two promises to the fans: “Next summer I will come there with great pleasure. Then I can certainly tell those present that we will do everything to continue winning, of course. I commit to coming there bringing with me another important trophy.”
