Inter have confirmed that Marko Arnautovic will be out for an extended period of time after picking up an injury in their victory over Empoli. The 34-year-old was forced to come off in the 71st minute of the match, having sustained a hamstring injury.
A statement on Inter’s official website confirmed the news:
Marko Arnautovic underwent instrumental examinations this morning at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano after yesterday’s injury in the match against Empoli.
The Nerazzurri striker sustained a medium muscle distraction at the myotendinous junction of the biceps femoris of the left thigh.
His condition will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks.
The Austrian international is expected to be out of action for around two months, putting his expected return date at close to the Derby D’Italia against Juventus in November.
