Former Juventus midfielder and club icon Claudio Marchisio shared his thoughts on various topics, including the upcoming Juventus-Milan match and the role of Teun Koopmeiners, during the presentation of the new Italian version of the Kings League.
Regarding the Kings League, Marchisio commented on its rapid rise and appeal to younger generations: “Football has deep history and roots. The Kings League was created in 2022 and is achieving truly impressive numbers because it has positioned itself in the market, especially for new generations. We know very well that attention has changed; everything needs to be faster. In football, even the most interesting match always has its key moments and then sometimes slows down a bit. We see it in the stadiums too, sometimes people watch the game and get distracted by other things.”
When asked about the upcoming Juventus-Milan clash, Marchisio didn’t hide his allegiance: “You know which side I’m on. It will be a match, I hope a very beautiful one, very important for both teams and for the standings, which are certainly very tight. At this moment, three points are very important, and they are even more so in direct confrontations. I can’t wait to see it.”
Marchisio also offered his perspective on Teun Koopmeiners, drawing an intriguing comparison: “He himself has said that his role has changed a lot compared to Atalanta, not just in terms of position, but also in how the team plays. From Gasperini to Thiago Motta, the change is evident. I’ve watched him, and he touches the ball much more. Today, the only thing he’s missing is finishing, because he’s complete. He’s a player with weight, very important in this Juventus midfield, and he reminds me a bit of Pavel Nedved’s first year.”
