Manchester United are ramping up efforts to secure the signature of Lecce’s promising young talent, Patrick Dorgu. The Red Devils have been in ongoing negotiations with the Italian club as they seek to finalize a deal for the 20-year-old Danish left-back.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Ruben Amorim, United’s head coach, has identified Dorgu as a key target to strengthen the squad’s left flank. The club’s persistence in pursuing the player underscores their determination to bolster their defensive options before the January transfer window closes.
Recent developments indicate that United have already made two bids for Dorgu, with the latest offer reportedly reaching £27 million. However, Lecce has stood firm, rejecting both proposals as they hold out for a fee closer to their valuation of around £34 million (€40 million).
Despite the initial setbacks, Manchester United remains undeterred. The club is preparing to submit a third offer, with add-ons expected to play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the two clubs’ valuations.
