Manchester City Prepares Official Bid for Juventus Star Cambiaso

Start

Manchester City are poised to submit an official transfer offer for Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso in the coming days, with the club’s Champions League performance potentially influencing the timing of the bid.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the 24-year-old Italian full-back has emerged as a prime target for Pep Guardiola, who sees Cambiaso as an ideal reinforcement for the team’s defensive lineup. City is reportedly preparing to table an offer around 60-65 million euros, though Juventus may hold out for an even higher fee.

Juventus manager Thiago Motta has previously expressed reluctance to sell Cambiaso, describing him as “untransferable” and asking the club’s board to retain the player. However, the substantial financial offer from Manchester City could potentially change the negotiations.

Cambiaso has been a standout performer for Juventus this season, playing 27 matches across all competitions and demonstrating his versatility by scoring two goals and providing two assists. His ability to play in multiple defensive positions makes him an attractive prospect for Guardiola’s tactical system.

The potential move comes as Manchester City continues to rebuild their squad, with the club already securing transfers for other defensive talents like Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis. The pursuit of Cambiaso is particularly notable as the team seeks to replace outgoing right-back Kyle Walker.

While Juventus would prefer to keep the player until the summer, the significant financial offer could prove tempting. The club would likely look to reinvest any transfer funds into strengthening other areas of the squad.
