A report from Italian football news site Calcio Style suggests that Milan may be preparing to offer Gigi Buffon a six-month contract. The Rossoneri are without first choice Mike Maignan at present with the French keeper is expected to out for at least another month.
According to Calcio Style, Paolo Maldini spoke with Buffon right after the game between Inter and Parma in the Coppa Italia. The Rossoneri technical director reportedly wanted to test the waters for a potential loan move which would last for six months until the summer. The suggestion is that Milan would look to extend the deal, if they don’t reach a deal for Atalanta’s Marco Sportiello in June.
For the moment, there’s no indication from the keeper that he is interested in the switch but the story may develop further before the close of the January transfer window.
