Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan is taking longer to recover than initially expected and that could bring forward Marco Sportiello’s move from Atalanta. The French keeper is recovering from a calf injury that has kept him on the sidelines for the last few weeks but he’s not expected to be ready for when the season resumes.
Sky Sport report that that the players muscle has not reacted as expected to the treatment so far and there is caution over his condition. There’s been no relapse but he is expected to undergo further checks when he returns to Italy with Milan medical staff are determined not to rush his return.
Milan are expected to evaluate the situation and should the keeper be out for a longer period, they could make an attempt to rush through the signing of Marco Sportiello from Atalanta, having previously secured a deal to sign him for free next summer.
