Lukaku: ‘The Jobs not Finished’

Start

Romelu Lukaku helped Roma rout Brighton 4-0 but insists the tie is not over yet. The Giallorossi blew the Seagulls apart with scintitllating display at the Stadio Olimpico, and speaking post-match, Lukaku talked through the match while also refusing to be drawn on his future:

“It was a good game from us. Brighton play very well and always try to break down defenses. Our defense did a great job and we could have scored many more goals. It’s never over against the English, job’s not finished, we have to go there and do better than today in the return leg,” he said.

“De Rossi gives me more freedom in midfield to cut in. I have to attack the space in front of me. It’s the first time I’ve been playing as a lone striker since I arrived in Italy, but I’m feeling good and we have to continue to grow to get further in the league and cup.”

“We dream of going as far as possible in this competition, the big teams think this way. The coach puts in the effort and we try to follow him and do as much as possible.”

“When I arrived I saw the fans’ love for this team. Nainggolan also prepared me a lot on how I should behave. The teammates were splendid right from the start, Mourinho helped me and now De Rossi is doing the same. I try to give my best for Roma, many people don’t know what my situation was and I thank Roma for their confidence in me.”

“Here at AS Roma it’s all different, here the fans love me. I’m doing my best as this club helped me”.

“My future and the expiring loan from Chelsea in June? I have to be careful with those answers!”
