Romelu Lukaku’s return to Inter is thought to be imminent as Chelsea are open to loaning him while also expressing interest in Denzel Dumfries. The Belgian striker has been pushing to leave Chelsea since returning there last summer and failing to secure a place in the starting XI.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Chelsea and Inter spoke yesterday and the common desire among all parties is to agree a loan move.
Sky Sport Italia report on similar lines, suggesting that the Nerazzurri offered €5m to loan Lukaku, while the Blues are asking for €15m, leading to a likely compromise at €10m.
Gazzetta suggest that the ‘white smoke’ is near and Lukaku’s return to Italy is imminent, with just minor negotiations to be completed.
Alongside, the two teams are discussing a possible transfer for Dumfries to Chelsea and while the two deals are not linked, they are running parallel to one another.
Inter could offer some form of discount, given the concession on Lukaku’s return, and may be prepared to drop the €45m asking price to accommodate Chelsea.
