Lazio youngster Luka Romero was beyond proud after sealing his first ever professional goal within the Biancocelesti’s 1-0 victory of Monza this evening.
After a scoreless half, Sarri made a bold move by bringing off the former Verona winger Matteo Cancellieri in exchange for the Argentinian international.
Fortunately, his brave decision paid off as the 17 year-old broke the deadlock as he scored from point-blank range following a rebound from Pedro’s shot on target within the 69th minute of open play.
As a result, Sarri’s side have now climbed up into second on level terms with Milan as they possess a total of 30 points.
While speaking to the media, as relayed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Romero spoke about what it meant to him to score such a special goal within his career for Lazio within their home-stomping territory:
It was a huge emotion to score at the Olimpico in front of all the fans, I am very happy also for the three points. It is the best gift in the world. The whole team always supports me and this makes me feel good. Sarri is important to me and to the whole team, we must continue like this and also win the next match.”
